Myth Busters - Josh Satin, INF, New York Mets

A number of Mets fans are a bit giddy right now about the success of Josh Satin of Savannah. Among the league leaders in batting average all season, he currently sits at .325, good for top 10 in the SAL. While Satin has been the offensive MVP of the Gnats thus far due to his steady bat and ability to play just about every position on the field, I just don't see how a player with Satin's skill set warrants a 6th round draft pick (2008).

At 24 (over two years older than the Mets 2008 4th rounder Sean Ratliff), Satin is borderline old for a player breaking through in the "bigs" let alone A ball. With little speed or power, and average contact and defensive skills, Satin is an instant organizational player. Keep in mind he is 3-5 years older than most pitchers he faces so he should have success.
